The academy aims to develop not only elite athletes but also future leaders and contributors, both on and off the field. With a focus on skills such as strength and conditioning, performance recovery, and personal development, students will receive first-class coaching and support. The program also covers important topics like diet, nutrition, and the effects of drugs and alcohol on athletic performance.
The academy will offer timetabled rugby excellence classes for students in Years 10 to 12, allowing participants to train and compete at a high level while managing their studies. Younger students in Years 7 to 9 will also benefit from development sessions and competitive opportunities.
Headed by experienced coaches Brenko Lee and Ana Fotu, the academy provides access to NRL-standard facilities and affiliations with professional clubs like the Brisbane Broncos and Queensland Reds. Students will also have the opportunity to compete in elite competitions, including the prestigious Confraternity Shield.
