A Story Bridge Hotel Crab Lunch is never simply lunch.
Built around generous hospitality, shared tables, entertainment and the unmistakable atmosphere of one of Brisbane’s best-known venues, the lunches bring together businesspeople, community figures, friends and long-time regulars for an afternoon designed to be experienced together.
At a recent Crab Lunch, JtA.LIVE once again provided the audio, visual and live production systems supporting the event—ensuring every guest could clearly hear the presentation and see the action, wherever they were seated.
JtA.LIVE · EVENT PRODUCTION
Bring your next event to life.
From audio, video, lighting, and large LED screens to livestreaming, event connectivity, and technical production, JtA.LIVE brings it all together.
One production across the entire venue
The production combined radio microphones, event music, presentation content and live camera coverage through a central vMix production system.
Two live cameras captured the event from different perspectives. One remained positioned to provide consistent coverage, while the second operated through a wireless radio link, allowing the camera operator to move freely through the venue and capture presenters, guests and spontaneous moments without being constrained by a trailing video cable.
The live cameras and prepared slideshow were then switched and distributed to screens throughout the event space, including the venue’s large LED display.
This meant the visual experience could move seamlessly between presentation slides, event branding, speakers and live reactions from around the room.
Supporting the atmosphere—not distracting from it
At hospitality events such as the Crab Lunches, production needs to feel polished without becoming intrusive.
Guests are there to enjoy the food, conversation and entertainment. The technology should quietly connect the room, allowing a speaker at one end of the venue to hold the attention of guests throughout the space.
Radio microphones provided presenters with the freedom to move naturally, while carefully managed music supported the changing pace of the afternoon. Live camera coverage ensured that expressions, presentations and key moments were not limited to those seated closest to the action.
Behind the scenes, JtA.LIVE managed the complete production workflow, bringing audio, cameras, graphics, slideshow content and screen distribution together as one coordinated system.
A Brisbane event tradition
The Story Bridge Hotel describes its sell-out Mud Crab Lunches as signature events within a calendar that also includes some of Brisbane’s most recognised annual celebrations.
The lunches reflect the character of the venue itself: established, social and unmistakably Brisbane. Set beneath the Story Bridge, the heritage-listed Story Bridge Hotel has been part of the Kangaroo Point community since the late nineteenth century and has a long association with Brisbane’s social and hospitality history.
More than a seafood lunch, each event combines dining with conversation, business relationships, entertainment and the sense of occasion that comes from bringing a large room of people together.
It is a format that depends on atmosphere—but also on carefully coordinated production.
A continuing partnership
JtA.LIVE provides the audiovisual production for the Story Bridge Hotel’s Crab Lunches and other events of this kind, adapting the technical delivery to suit each occasion while maintaining a familiar and dependable production framework.
From the first microphone announcement to the final image on the LED screen, the objective remains the same: help the venue tell the story of the event, keep guests connected with what is happening and make the production feel like a natural part of the experience.
Because when the technology works as it should, guests do not think about the cameras, radio links, switching systems or signal distribution.
They simply see, hear and enjoy the moment.
