UK Trip Day 27
Our last full day in London had it all — Notting Hill, Abbey Road, historic pubs, a drink by the Thames, and one final Thai dinner at our local. The perfect farewell to a city we never stop loving.

Day 27 was our last full day in London, and we absolutely packed it in.
We kicked things off with a bus ride to Notting Hill, where we treated ourselves to scones for breakfast before wandering along the famous Portobello Road and stopping in at the iconic bookshop. From there, it was onto the train and off to Abbey Road.
And yes, it was every bit as entertaining as you’d imagine.
We stood there laughing as we watched other people trying to nail the perfect crossing photo while dodging traffic, before stepping up to do exactly the same ourselves. To make it even better, we had people back home tuned into the live cameras, watching us make fools of ourselves in real time. Such a fun experience. Of course, no visit would be complete without a stop at the gift shop too.
Next, we made our way to the final historic pub on our must-visit list for this trip, The Hoop & Grapes. On the way, we witnessed something we’d only heard about until now — a phone being snatched straight out of a woman’s hand right in front of us. We’d been told it’s a real issue in London at the moment, but until then we hadn’t seen any sign of it. A sobering moment in an otherwise brilliant day. The pub itself, though, was exactly what we’ve come to love about London’s historic pubs — full of character, history and atmosphere.
We still had time to squeeze in a quick drink by the Thames at The Rutland Arms, which has become a must-do for us on every trip, before heading back to our local for one last Thai dinner to round out our London adventure.
A huge final full day. A lot of laughs. A little chaos. And a pretty perfect way to farewell London.
