Day 24 delivered the kind of London weather you dream about — blue skies, sunshine and a top of around 14°C — so we knew we had to make the most of it. With conditions too good to waste, we headed back to Richmond… and so did just about everyone else. The town was absolutely buzzing. We expected the riverside to be busy, but the sheer stream of people pouring off trains and buses, all moving in the same direction, was something else entirely.
We happily joined the energy of it all, wandering through Richmond’s charming laneways, ducking into the Ted Lasso store, and stopping for another incredible chicken pie at our favourite pub by the river. From there, the adventure continued on to Battersea. What should have been a simple journey turned into a very London experience — one train, two buses, one breakdown, and plenty of walking because, at times, our feet were moving faster than the traffic.
When we finally arrived at Battersea Power Station, the atmosphere was worth every bit of the effort. The whole riverside precinct was packed with people, helped along by a huge outdoor concert that had the area humming with excitement. Everywhere you looked there were happy faces, music in the air, and that unmistakable weekend buzz that makes London feel electric.
In need of a refreshing beverage, we found ourselves at Bounce — a loud, lively, slightly chaotic bar with ping pong tables, great food, and balls flying in every direction. We didn’t even need to play to enjoy ourselves; just watching the action was entertainment enough.
To round out another brilliant day, we made our way back to Hammersmith for dinner at The Swan — a grand old pub we make a point of visiting every time we’re in town. A perfect finish to a sun-soaked London adventure.
