Day 12 was all about slowing the pace a little and soaking up the charm of the Cotswolds. We started the morning with a wander through town in search of bakery treats and a good coffee, which is always a great way to begin the day. Once the boutiques opened, we settled into a proper session of shopping, browsing our way through the gorgeous little stores that make these towns so easy to fall in love with.
Later, we jumped in the car and headed back to Dunkertons for lunch — and this time we discovered their hot mulled cider. It was so good we couldn’t leave without taking a bottle home to enjoy warmed up by the fireplace later that evening. After a lunch that may have tipped a little too far into indulgent, we decided to make one more stop at Hawkstone Brewery, which turned out to be only minutes from where we were staying. It was such a cool spot, and somewhere we could easily have spent far longer. Naturally, we also had to give the milk and cheese vending machines a try.
After all of that, we made our way back home for the perfect end to the day — hot cider, a crackling fire, and a cosy night in.
