With nothing really opening until midday on a Sunday, our fourth day in London began exactly as it should: slow and unapologetically lazy, with breakfast at Spoons — which has somehow become our reliable little ritual for kick-starting the day.
Once we’d finally assembled ourselves, we jumped on a double-decker bus and headed into Piccadilly Circus. A quick wander through a couple of shops, then straight into the important stuff: a pint at The Devonshire (“the Dev”) — because honestly, you can’t be in the area and not go to the Dev.

From there we met up with UK legends Rob and Sam at The George, and what followed was nothing short of a proper London lunch. We tried two new things that completely reset our standards:
- Black pudding scotch egg — now officially the benchmark for all scotch eggs going forward.
- Irish coffee — instantly promoted to favourite drink status (no discussion required).
Fuelled, happy, and feeling like we’d peaked (spoiler: we hadn’t), we rolled down the road to the One Tun to catch the Arsenal game. The place was absolutely heaving — wall-to-wall people, pints in the air, and that buzzing, shared-experience energy that makes watching sport in a pub feel like an event. A cracking atmosphere, and the perfect way to wrap the day.
The Day 4 tally:
10.5k steps
8km
3 pubs
