“At St Francis Xavier we endeavour to develop students’ strengths and talents so that all students can experience learning success and achieve their potential,” Principal Jacobsen explained. “At St Francis Xavier we believe that learning is a lifelong pursuit, and that students learn best when they are engaged.

“Our teachers use inquiry questions to hook students’ interests and present learning using a variety of modes – visual, auditory, tactile, and kinaesthetic.

“We not only provide educational opportunities across all areas of the Australian Curriculum, but specifically target literacy and numeracy.

“We acknowledge the importance of other key learning areas such as the arts, music, and physical education.

“We offer many before school and lunchtime clubs, where students can develop or try these interests,” Principal Jacobsen concluded.

The school emphasises the importance of positive partnerships between staff and families to create “kids who care”.
