Day 21 saw us farewell the charming town of Beatrix Potter and roll into the town of Dracula. We traded our little lakeside village for the big seaside beauty of Whitby — a place packed with history, character and some seriously dramatic scenery.

Whitby is famous for its clifftop Abbey, which is said to have inspired Bram Stoker’s Dracula, and it also proudly lays claim to Captain James Cook. With its winding cobblestone streets, historic harbour charm and walk-everywhere layout, it didn’t take long for us to fall for this place.

We enjoyed lunch on the top deck of the replica Endeavour ship before setting off to explore the town on foot. From the striking coastal views to the atmosphere of the old streets, Whitby delivered another fantastic day of adventure.

To top it all off, we had an absolutely incredible dinner at Macey Brown’s — the kind of meal that makes you want to come back to a town just to eat there again.
