“My vision for the college is to form a very strong community,” Principal Maher says in the video above. “So, when I talk about community, I talk about our staff, our students, and parents.”
“What is particularly important to me is those connections between home and school, so our parent engagement, including our new parent engagement advisory group, which was new to the college this year that I’ve implemented.
“It’s just an opportunity to hear parent voice, along with student and teacher voice, and really know that we’re a family and we operate and share in the journey, because it’s really about the journey of your son or daughter from when they arrive at our college to graduation.
“And so that is definitely a partnership to ensure best outcomes for all our students.”
One of Principal Maher’s first community engagements will be the Mt Maria College Petrie Virtual Open Day. This is an opportunity for parents to find out how the college, under the leadership of Principal Maher, will encourage their child to prosper through high school and onto university or other pathways. During the livestream event being held Wednesday, 14 June at 6.30pm, parents will be invited to ask questions online.
